The default setting for Windows Vista is to have the UAC (User Account Control) enabled. This control is designed to protect the user from harmful action that hackers or virus might try to do. Unfortunately Microsoft didn't make it so the user can know what is trying to run. It just asks for approval. Which everyone selects OK anyway. There are other problems with having UAC enabled. Some of your hardware may not work correctly with it enable. I have a co-worker that his printer wouldn't scan or report the ink level. Once he turned UAC off everything worked correctly. I have hear several story similar to this about UAC causing problems. You might be asking, way have it enabled? Well, I don't. I find it causes me more problems then it does help me. So, if you want to turn it OFF it is really easy. Here are the steps to follow:
Once you reboot you will not be prompted constantly if you want to give access to this or that. Life become better.
